A Different Kind of Weight Loss Care

Weight management isn't about willpower or discipline—it's about biology, hormones, and finding the right tools that work with your unique body, not against it.

I'm here to develop a personalized weight loss plan that works for you, and to provide the compassionate support that makes lasting change possible.

  • Dr. Lupo is such an amazing provider!

“I’ve struggled with my weight my entire life. Her help and guidance has changed my life! Now almost 100 pounds down!” -Jamie R.

My Signature Process

Visit #1: Initial Consultation (90 minutes)

During our first one-on-one meeting in my practice space, you'll experience healthcare that puts you first. This isn't a rushed, 15-minute appointment—it's a 90-minute comprehensive, supportive conversation where you have the space to share your story. My goal is to have a collaborative discussion about your weight management struggles, victories, and frustrations, and to get aligned on your vision and what feels meaningful for you.

In our initial consultation, we’ll:

  • Discuss your health history and weight management journey

  • Explore your health goals beyond weight loss

  • Review possible treatment options, including FDA-approved weight loss medications

  • Leverage my in-office Seca Body Composition Scale to track accurate progress

  • Order comprehensive lab work (to be completed at an outside facility)

  • Consider referrals to specialists for comprehensive support (dietitian, therapist, physical therapist, or others, depending on your needs)

This visit lays the foundation not just for your personalized weight loss services but for a supportive partnership focused on your unique biology and goals.

Visit #2: Results Review and Treatment Planning (30 minutes)

After your lab results are available, we'll meet again in person or via telehealth to:

  • Review and discuss the results of your comprehensive lab work

  • Explore medication options based on your health profile and insurance coverage

  • Select the most appropriate treatment approach

  • Create your personalized weight management plan

  • Address any questions or concerns you may have

Visit #3 and Beyond: Monthly Follow-Up Visits (30 minutes)

Regular monthly visits (in person or via telehealth) while you're on weight management medication allow us to:

  • Monitor your progress and celebrate successes

  • Address any side effects or concerns

  • Make medication adjustments as needed

  • Check in on lifestyle factors (sleep, stress, movement, nutrition)

  • Provide ongoing support and accountability

As you approach your weight or body composition goals, we may begin to space visits further apart (every 2-3 months) or maintain monthly visits for continued accountability, depending on your preference and needs.

  • Dr. Lupo is simply fantastic.

“When I first started seeing her, I was in a dark place, both mentally and physically, from some recent trauma that had happened in my life. She helped me connect with a therapist who took my insurance and got me on the correct dose of medications. She offered me sound, common-sense nutritional advice, and I have lost quite a bit of weight; I am now at my comfortable natural body proportions. She is a kind listener and takes her time with her patients. She will do her research to help you reach your optimal health!” -Nikki W.

Common Questions

  • Yes, I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Cigna, UMR, and Tricare. As always, confirm with your insurance that Lupo Preventative Medicine is in-network for your plan. If you are out-of-network, I offer cash pay rates.

  • No. I only prescribe FDA-approved medications where purity, safety, and efficacy have been verified through rigorous testing. Compounded medications lack this regulatory oversight and may contain unknown ingredients or incorrect dosages.

  • A prior authorization is a requirement from your insurance company to verify that a prescribed medication is medically necessary before they'll cover it. Many weight management medications require this extra step. Here's how it works: I'll send your prescription to the pharmacy, who will then notify us if a prior authorization is needed. I'll complete the necessary paperwork, which may include answering specific questions about your case or submitting chart notes to demonstrate your need for the medication. While most prior authorizations are processed promptly, occasional delays happen. If you don't hear about your prescription within a week, I recommend calling your pharmacy to ensure the prior authorization request was properly sent to my office.

Rediscover Energy, Confidence, and Freedom in Your Body

I'd be honored to support you on this journey.
