049. Meditation & Weight Loss with Kimberly Dunn

Literally everything.
Meditation helps to create space between your thoughts (like this thought:I need to eat everything right now!) and your reactions – how you respond to those sentences in your head.
And, while it’s 100% not an overnight quick fix, it is 100% the most meaningful work you can do - connect back to your body, back to your breath, and feel in control of your eating.
Start asking yourself the question, “Does my head want this extra treat or does my body?” << That thought helped get me out of my head and understand what was going on in my body.
This helped me to learn that my body usually doesn’t need all the food my head thinks I need.
And, as Tara Brach says, “Thoughts are real, but not always true.”
I really couldn’t do this until I started just a little meditation practice.
