031. Kick negative self-talk to the curb
Hey Mama,
You know that voice in your head? The one that tells you that you aren’t good enough, that you might as well eat the whole bag of chips (or Reese's peanut butter cups like me), and you’re just ready to throw in the towel?
Have you ever wondered why you can’t “ignore” or try to suppress that heinous voice with willpower?
And have you noticed that when you do try to ignore or willpower you way out of it, you find that the voice telling you to eat the whole bag of (fill in the blank) comes back up like a raging beach ball you’re trying to hold underwater (so you end up eating the whole thing) and you feel like there’s something wrong with you?
If you’re nodding your head, you’re not alone.
Here’s the thing: There’s nothing wrong with you. Negative self-talk is part of the human experience. Some of us may struggle with it more than others, but we all experience it!
The good news is that on this week’s podcast episode, I’m giving you tactical tips and tools that will help you:
Recognize your patterns and triggers, and how you can create new actionable patterns when the trigger comes.
Care for yourself with self-compassion and empathy instead of self-judgement and berating.
Approach weight loss with purpose instead of from a place of dislike.
Engage in activities that actually matter to you.
Xx
